What other software would you want Off Topix to run on?

If the owner decided to convert Off Topix to another forum software, which one would you want it to be and why?

This forum has been open for 5 years now and has already been converted a few times.

Year one: phpBB
Year two: vBulletin
Year three: IPB
Year four and five: MyBB

...surprisingly we've been more active using MyBB than the others, so I'd say forking out all that money for a license and paying the renewal fees is a waste of money.  Also many of the plugins on paid software cost money and some even have their own renewal fees.  Not to mention theme designers jack up the prices on "premium themes" for paid software.  Sticking to free software is cost effective all around.  Usually all plugins available are free and good theme's are cheap (or free).  Some of those paid software's can be resource intensive and we might need to get more expensive hosting to accommodate the bloated monster.

If I ever did want to fork out excessive amounts of money to run this place again, I'd probably pick XenForo.

I wouldn't mind paying a renewal fee if I could bypass that whole $140 up-front payment. That's kinda steep.

Why do you not like the idea of using xenforo?

I like MyBB but still think Xenforo has a edge in usability for the members, been a long time since I saw the backend of MyBB so can not comment on that.

IPB. My favorite forum software, personally, but MyBB is the best free one IMO, so that's what I'm using ATM, as IPB is expensive as hell.
