If you're feeling negative with life, why don't you go watch some animals run and play? I've been doing that before Covid has started. I have taken pictures with them and their owner, petted them and have fed them, played with them. An animal or a pet is so full of life and joy, that I feel instantly in a good mood upon seeing one, I'd love to have a cat or a dog myself, but it's outside of my budget for now. What about you? Have you tried zoo therapy personally? Has it worked for you as a therapy for you personally or not? For me personally, it has anyways. I love animals of all sorts : pets or wild.

Animals are awesome! Taking care of a pet actually helps people live longer.

That's because they have no socially-imposed responsibilities, no soul-crushing, life-draining jobs to go to, no one to boss them around and to impose their will on to them, etc.

People restrict animals/pets; fence them in, control their social life, mating; control when & what they're fed. In some cases, make them work or do silly tricks for their food; control when & where & how much exercise they get. Put collars, ropes or chains on them.
Dictate their grooming, even toothbrushing.

My mother's cat begs to differ.
Well, okay, but does Mother's cat get to go play in the street or play in the dirt & get her paws messy if she wants to? :p

(That's gotta be a girl cat. )

Yes. He has an absolute freedom to do & go whatever he wants, get dirty, eat whatever he wants, doesn't have to do anything, no silly tricks, doesn't have to exercise, never wore a collar, leash, rope, chain or any other kind of neck wear, grooms himself at his convenience and no one is forcing him to brush his teeth.

Uh-oh....must be a HE.
Does he know how to open the refrigerator & turn on the water faucet then?
Did he decide to get himself neutered? Or, maybe he's a tomcat then?

No, he's not an F-14 fighter jet. ;)

They sound like slaves when you put it that way.
