Which means the day after it's time for us heathens that don't celebrate to grab our Christmas turkeys on the cheap!Its almost turkey day!
You should celebrate it. You live here. I know tons of foreigners who embrace our holidays. Even those who have only been here for under 5 years.
We tried a couple of times, it's just...not our thing.

Yeah, I suppose it doesn't help that we tried it with conservative americans in Texas. Ya' know, whole ordeal with the giving thanks and the standing around the table until the turkey arrives...fuck that.

I was in Texas for Easter and went to a gathering. They made us all hold hands and bow our heads so someone could say a blessing (prayer). I thought that was kind of odd. Oh well, it was over in a few seconds. The food was good.

It is but sometimes you just go along because its the custom or the tradition, you don't really have to care or be fully invested. Easier to do that than be disruptive and kill the vibe of the party.

Oh yeah, I was thinking of joining a local gym. Not the cheap $10 a month one. The nicer one that has heated indoor swimming pools, hot tub, steam room and sauna (all the stuff the $10 a month gym doesn't have). I used to belong to that gym years ago and I loved going swimming and doing the steam room. Feels so good. I wonder if they'll have any black friday deals for joining.

I was thinking of selling my home exercise equipment and turning that room into a room for the dogs (dogs that I don't have yet). The room is right by the backdoor and I could clear it out, put a doggy door so they could come inside and their beds / food bowls would be right there. I could also put baby gates up so they'd stay in there (and have access to the backyard) when I don't want them to have access to the rest of the house. I dunno, just brainstorming.

We have a nice park nearby. I wonder if there are any karens there that will nag me about the leash law. Last time I had a dog (a few years ago) I'd let my dog off the leash at the local park and this guy chewed me out a couple times for doing that. My dog was very well behaved, left people alone and stayed away from other dogs.
