Does your job make you busy during this time?Good morning everyone,
It's been a busy month and no signs of slowing down now that we are coming up to Christmas.
Hope everyone has been keeping well.

We tried a couple of times, it's just...not our thing. You should celebrate it. You live here. I know tons of foreigners who embrace our holidays. Even those who have only been here for under 5 years.

Yeah, I suppose it doesn't help that we tried it with conservative americans in Texas. Ya' know, whole ordeal with the giving thanks and the standing around the table until the turkey arrives...fuck that. Its just eating a meal and watching TV / being lazy. Thats everyone's thing.

YEah, Texas is full on bible belt territory.I never did any of that. I always thought on that day you just thought about what you're thankful for without telling anyone.
I was in Texas for Easter and went to a gathering. They made us all hold hands and bow our heads so someone could say a blessing (prayer). I thought that was kind of odd. Oh well, it was over in a few seconds. The food was good.

Oh totally, I'd rather not rock the boat.It is but sometimes you just go along because its the custom or the tradition, you don't really have to care or be fully invested. Easier to do that than be disruptive and kill the vibe of the party.
