Lack of admin tools and spammers is what plagued my Facebook. group.I just started one a couple of weeks ago after a long break from forums.
I was running a FB group but the lack of administrative tools got me more frustrated than anything.
Spammers/Scammers??? Don't even talk about it, I started a war against them and I even made my own browser extension to mitigate somehow the situation.Lack of admin tools and spammers is what plagued my Facebook. group.
I also tried to pull my members to the forum, but it was mission impossible. I didn't have more value at the forum than what they got at the group. Next time I will change strategy and offer more value.Oh yeah I forgot about my Facebook group, I have a Facebook group for the Youtuber called This Is Dan Bell. He's even in the group too, I actually made him a moderator. I tried seeing if I could make a forum alongside the group to eventually convert to a forum, but it just didn't work out.
Heck I even get indecisive on where to post when managing multiple forums let alone owning them 😂Just one. It's hard enough getting one forum up and going. I couldn't imagine trying to operate two or more simultaneously.
Sure but you also gain reputation with your contributions.I guess that's another aspect of loving multiple forums. Which one do I want to show love to today? Like, I know sometimes I want to post to my own forum, but (currently I barely have any audience), so I choose to post on other, more populated forums, instead of my own, which kinda defeats the purpose of running your own forum, doesn't it?
What’s that? InterestingBeen working on a old forum I used to have since 2012.
Every community has a different vibe, different atmosphere, slightly different application of rules as to what’s acceptable and not. This applies not least to how far you can go with banter. It’s great to meet ppl from all walks of life while we naturally feel closer and more connected to like-minded pplAren't you concerned about spreading yourself too thin though?
