2012

i belive it may be true, i mean nostradamus foretold alot of things that happend. He also said things about 2012, but in his book he also says ways on how we can prevent it. not to mention another person in the early 1900's also predicted the same thing.

Also it is said that it did happen before, you know the legends of atlantis right? they say that armageddon happend to them a long time ago.

it also appears that it is actually a cycle, every _____ years the earth has some kind of crazy disaster that engulfs the entire world.

I've also heard that it may be possible that governments have been preparing for 2012, so if it does happen they may be able to prevent it.

Dont believe everything you read. Its all fake.

If a Myan were here today he would tell you that what happens after the end of the Mayan cycle (specifically in 2012), is a new one cycle begins.

People are just prone to think the worst, misunderstand things, and generate panic. Those who buy into the whole thing may choose to believe it all and scare themselves but they are just wasting their time.

Also, it never occurs to people that the Mayans ha no point to make their calendar that much in advance. Maybe it stopped because they saw no purpose in continuing it thousands more years ahead.

i'm not talking about the mayans i am talking about nostradomus, also i saw it on tv not reading. there was a doomsday 2012 on the history channel, syfy and discovery channel. not the same show but it was all circled around nostradamus.

also what happens if it does happen? you'all will be like AAAAhh they were right!

i personally don't want it to happen, i haven't even gotten a video game creating team yet like i want to.

A lot of nostradamus's predictions failed.

and alot of nostradamus predictions could also be related to what was going on during his lifetime.

but remember i said there was he became another person when he was hypnotize, don't remember his name though but he died decades ago.

Ok, so how does that prove the world is going to end?

Ive read up on a lot of these 2012 things and most everything if filled with the words might and could

The world is going to end, but not in 2012.

Some 6 billion years from now there is supposed to be a global killer asteroid that will hit Earth and obliterate all life, even bacteria. I'm not real worried about that one because I'm pretty sure I'll be dead by then.

No...just as Nebulous said; Y2K was supposed to be the end all of civilization on this planet and here we still are.

No one can know for certain that the Earth will end, or how it will happen. I'm sticking with my theory about the asteroid.

I agree with you!

I knew there would be a topic on this somewhere.

Some theorists believe that on December 21, 2012 the exact opposite of what many others think will occur. Rather than disaster and the end of the world, we will pass into the Age of Aquarius, or 'The Golden Age'. This means that life as we know it will change for the better. People will become more compassionate and understanding of one another, and more will develop a 'third eye', meaning that people will become more aware of their surroundings, will care more about their environments than their fancy cars and homes. They will no longer take everything for granted, and our governments will care more about its people.

Of course, I don't believe this, but I would like to. What's your take on this theory? Hey, say what you want but it's a lot better than the crackpots who suggest we're all going to die in a horrible, twisted way.

First of all the film was absolutely terrible. Arks? LMAO

I think not the slightest thing is going to happen in 2012. If you look hard enough you can always make a link between some random facts and make a theory about it, but that doesn't make it any more real.

Well firstly, I think that 2012 would mark the end of civilization, not the end of the world. There is a difference between the two.

Secondly, if something catastrophic does happen, it's probably nothing that anybody suggested might happen.

Thirdly, it's not going to be zombies, that's for sure.

Well its 2011 now so that means the world is supposed to end next year?

Most of the hype is coming from people selling a book who misread the Mayan texts.

Their calendar doesn't end in 2012, it starts over.

...and if the Mayans were the authority on all things factual - well, I think the world would be a different place right now.
