I don't blame him; why anyone at this point would want to sign w/AEW given Tony Khan Montana's penchant for up wrestlers w/ BS gimmicks - Kamille, for instance - and given how Cardona's managed to reinvent himself w/a new gimmick and all, he can go wherever he wants.
