Yeah.
One time when I was still working at the prison an inmate snapped in the chow hall and started fighting everybody in the room. I helped a Lieutenant break it up and both of us got hit several times.
Eventually it took the two of us, a couple of guards, and two inmate 'trustees' to get the guy on the ground and restrained.
