Favorite Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy is one of Square Enix's biggest franchises, and there is a constant debate about which one is the best or most favorite.  So which one is your favorite?

Haven't really played them. Have you? Which is your favorite and should claim the title of "best" ?

Oh lawd yes. I'm a big gamer. Played 5-12 essentially. My favorite is 7, though. Everyone says it's quite overrated, which I can understand why they think that. I don't think it's perfect by any means, but I do think it was the most fun one for me in terms of story and character development. A close second would be FF12 and then FF8, but story-wise FF6.

Any reason why you aren't fond of the main series? I haven't really played the spin offs.

Well I've only tried 7 and 13. 7 was really slow, and because I was trying to play it on PS3 I couldn't use the control stick and it was just tedious to control. 13 was pretty boring and I hated the fact that there was just a tiny corridor to navigate.

I disliked 13 because of the terrible characters and the storyline made it difficult to want to continue playing because of how involved it was surrounding the characters. xD 7 is slow and there are a lot of characters, but I found it to be much more interesting.

I've played all even 11(Online)

My favorite are 7, 10 and the 13 series.

But Lightning may beat Cloud Strife by a bit for my favorite.

I used to like Lightning until she became all soft, and she gets points taken away for being related to Sera. Such a terrible character...

If it hadn't been for that one, and the foundation it laid: good story, interesting characters and skills, it was WINNABLE!, and so on, there wouldn't have been any more of it, or its endless supply of clones.

The same could be said for the original Wolfenstein, and a handful of others.

Of the single player games FF6, just has a much better storyline then FF7 IMO.

In any case, of the whole series I'd say FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. One of the better MMOs on the market atm.
