CBS News: ISIS video claims U.S. aid worker Peter Kassig beheaded
Can we just go ahead and wall off that part of the world (except for Israel) and let the savages just kill each other off first?

A graphic video posted online Sunday by the militant group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claims to show that another U.S. captive has been beheaded. On the video, a black-clad militant with his face concealed shows off a severed head that he claims is that of 26-year-old American aid worker Peter Kassig, who changed his first name to Abdul-Rahman while in captivity. The video does not show the actual beheading.
"This is Peter Edward Kassig, a U.S. citizen, of your country; Peter who fought against the Muslims in Iraq, while serving as a soldier," the militant says near the end of the nearly 16-minute video. He speaks in an audible British accent despite his voice being distorted to make it more difficult to identify him. The video also showed what appeared to be the beheadings of several captured Syrian soldiers.
Kassig was captured last year while helping to provide medical aid in Syria. His friends say he converted to Islam in captivity. His family has made numerous public appeals for his release.
Kassig, an Indianapolis native, is a former Army Ranger who was honorably discharged after serving in the Iraq War, according to his parents.
Kassig went to the Middle East in 2012, first as a medical worker in Lebanon, helping Palestinian and Syrian refugees. Later that year, he started a non-governmental organization called Special Emergency Response and Assistance (SERA) to deliver food and medical aid to Syrians fleeing their country's civil war.
It was not immediately possible to confirm that it was Kassig pictured in the latest video.
A statement from U.S. National Security Council spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said, "We are aware of a video that claims to show the murder of U.S. citizen Peter Kassig by ISIL [Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant]. The intelligence community is working as quickly as possible to determine its authenticity. If confirmed, we are appalled by the brutal murder of an innocent American aid worker and we express our deepest condolences to his family and friends. We will provide more information when it is available."
Previous videos have shown the beheading of two American journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff, and two British aid workers.
