Opinion of Obama

I would say that barrackobama.com probably isn't the most impartial source of information. In my personal opinion Barrack Obama & his staff have no understanding of economics & the Constitution.

So are you saying their data is false?

No understanding of the constitution?

Barack Obama got his political science undergraduate degree from Columbia University

Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law School as well as being the President of the Harvard Law Review.

He does have a birth certificate.. they gave it out a long long time ago.

The birth certificate thing is over.

Now we have to work to undo some of the socialist agenda that has been implemented.

May I ask why? And what are you even talking about? He has been about as centrist as he could be. We need to start redistributing the wealth.

And while he is out blasting BP...

Remember this: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/36783.html

From that article: BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama

So they probably gave 1.0million to him or something like that? Maybe less. Doesn't mean he has any loyalties to them, doesn't mean anything.

I'm sorry but comparing the oil spill to the September 2001 attacks on the US proves that we have an Ignorant Aszhole for a President.

Here's some coverage of the statement, and it is NOT on Fox, we all know they're just a bunch of O-haters.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1286245/BP-OIL-SPILL-Fury-Obama-compares-Gulf-leak-9-11-attacks.html

Echoes? What in the hell is he talking about? Other than willfully ignoring warning signs and indicators that something was wrong by the Federal authorities whose jobs it is to protect the country (as they swore to do in their oath of office) what echos could there be?

And if I'm not mistaken, Mr. Obama was in a position of authority prior to becoming President who voted on various aspects of legislation and confirmations to offices that oversaw the Gulf Oil operation as well. He can't lay all of this one on Bush. He promised to reorganize the Mineral Office in the campaign, and didn't even start to do it until the oil was already bubbling to the surface in the Gulf. Got caught with his pants down on that one he did.

Don't get me wrong, there is literally MILLIONS of gallons of blame to go around, plenty to coat every politician in DC and a large number of oil bosses that paid them to look the other way to do it.

Now back to the thread.

Redistributing the wealth? You mean taking money that I go to work and earn and give it to somebody who doesn't. Then I'm staying home and you can pay me to watch TV.

Or did you have something more noble in mind? Like taking money from overpaid TV stars and athletes and giving it to the schlub that cleans up after them?

I'm talking about returning tax rates to mid-twentieth century levels, steepening the tax rate. I'm not a huge fan of the underlying concept of welfare, but the fact is that we don't have enough jobs for everyone and that not everyone who doesn't have a job doesn't want one or hasn't been looking for one.

The rich in the United States have far to much wealth. I understand that celeb wealth is based on the masses idolizing over a bunch of glamorous idiots, but CEO's business execs and the like make their huge superfluous fortunes by exploiting their workers, driving down wages and hiring as few people as possible to maximize their salaries.

The whole idea of golden parachutes is just outrageous.

We agree on that point.

Damn....

Don't let it happen again.

OK... here's a rundown I did in 2002 on ONE player's salary in the NFL.

The numbers have only gotten more ridiculous since then.

Let's look at last year's salary for just one player in the NFL. No, his team did not win the Super Bowl, and while he's a good player, he's not a household name. Jacksonville Quarterback Mark Brunell was paid eight million two hundred fifty thousand dollars for playing the 2002 season, we'll round that down to eight mil just to keep the calculator from melting. Now, we won't count training camp or preseason just to make the math easier, or post season either because players get bonus pay for making the playoffs. Sixteen regular season games works out to nine hundred sixty minutes of playing time. Given OT games we can round that up to maybe a thousand minutes of game time. Remember the Offense is only on the field for half the game (give or take) but we'll go with the thousand minutes just for giggles.

Eight million dollars for a thousand minutes of game time for the regular season. Eight Thousand Dollars a MINUTE for when the clock is running during a game.

A pathetic fact check for all but the last one. The rest were hypothetical or true anyway, but yet they post a fact that doesn't contradict what Obama said.

I like how all the network news point out that the BP CEO went sailing after his meeting with the President. Talking about how he was out relaxing while the oil is still flowing outraging the Gulf residents.

Wait a minute, where's the US President?

Obama hits golf course with Biden on another hot, humid weekend

By Bridget Johnson - 06/19/10 03:37 PM ET

President Barack Obama hit the golf course Saturday with Vice President Nebulous Biden.

The White House pool report noted that Obama left at about 1 p.m. for the course at Andrews Air Force base, and his golfing parters included White House Trip Director Marvin Nicholson and David Katz, the energy efficiency campaign manager at the Department of Energy.

Obama left the course shortly before 6 p.m.

I see a big difference here.

First of all, Obama was not directly responsible for the oil spill. BP was.

Second, you do not necessarily have to be rich to play golf.

Third, golfing took a far shorter amount of time than did the yacht race.

What do you expect the president to be doing regarding the issue? Hayworth could have been putting together an effort for his company to get out the data requested of him by congress or something like that. Obama is not an engineer.

I fail to see any point at all.

And for your second link, the fact that they repeated a sentence twice shows how retarded they are as a source.

As for the commission thing, perhaps he learned something that he didn't know before.

As for Pelosi's comments, I can't stand behind them, but it is true that extending unemployment benefits is the quickest and most direct way to stimulate the economy. Because these people are going to spend that money right away, on the necessities, food, clothing, house payments etc.

If that were true there wouldn't have been any major contraction of the economy because of the millions of checks that have been going out for well over a year now.

I've been on unemployment, you pay rent and utilities with it, and you don't buy the consumer items usually associated with increasing production and stimulating hiring. It's more of a survival mode way of thinking and spending.

Funny thing is that President George W. Bush spent 42% of the eight months he had in office before 9/11 on vacation.

WASHINGTON — Diamond Offshore announced Friday that its Ocean Endeavor drilling rig will leave the Gulf of Mexico and move to Egyptian waters immediately — making it the first to abandon the United States in the wake of the BP oil spill and a ban on deep-water drilling.

Mr. Obama's drilling ban has begun to have it's desired effect.

OH NO!!! Its the end of the world!!! We lost ONE rig out of the 3600 in the gulf!!!

I guess we will have to go with clean renewable energy sources that will end our dependence on foreign oil... Obama you bastard.

I'm not fond of Obama, I do not think he is an excellent president..

Care to elaborate?

He's not even doing a good job and it's already been 2 months and that oil spill is still going on.

What exactly can he do to stop the oil from surging to the surface of the ocean floor?

He is not an engineer, he forced BP to drill a second relief well, has put a lot of pressure on them getting it contained and is forcing BP to pay up to all damages to the people of the Gulf Coast.

What exactly do you feel he should be doing?
