Should schools teach kids about LGBT+?

I think kids that are a certain age should know about the community. If I had a class that taught me as a child, my life would have been much easier IMO. I'm part of the community, and I always felt different growing up. I didn't have the words for it, I just knew I was in the wrong body. I think children who are at least in the fifth grade need to learn about the community. I was taught sex education in fifth grade so if that's appropriate to teach children about puberty then they should be able to learn about the LGBTQ community.

Do schools teach kids about straight relationships? I don't remember ever having a class like that. I think they should promote tolerance of others but thats about it.

This. I'm all for teaching kids tolerance and that there's nothing wrong with LGBTQ, but a dedicated class or lecture on it? That's a bit much.

Given how some parents are towards their kids?

Yes, they should and if the parents don't like, leave.

Key word some. And that’s not how it should work when it’s the parents paying for the school system to operate. But I’m for every parent getting them out of public schools and home schooling if possible.

True but if a student goes to their teacher or school official about something LGBTQ-related the school shouldn't be forced to "rat out" the student to their parents. Often times the reason they go to the school and not their parents, Serafin, is because they're afraid to talk to their parents and need someone in authority to talk to.

Well schools have shown as a whole they cannot be trusted with such things. So no a mentally ill whacko pink haired teacher needs to keep her trap hole shut and keep teaching limited 2x2 because that seems like a stretch for teachers today.
