Borno is the birthplace of the Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which means “western education is a sin” in the Hausa language. The group wants to impose Shariah, or Islamic law, in Africa’s biggest oil producer and largest economy. Leader Abubakar Shekau warned in a video obtained in March that all students should leave university and girls drop out of school to get married.

I guess it is up to me to defend the majority of Muslims since 'ours' appear to have vanished.

The point is that not ALL Muslims are terrorists. And it is the Fundamentalists who strap bombs to themselves and then get on a school bus that make the rest look bad.

And, of course, the same things you said about Islam could be said about various branches of Christianity. You have to point no further than the "Westboro" church to see a message of hate, and lies for that matter. And the history of say Ireland to see where absolute brutality was practiced with both sides preaching Jesus Loves You.

As far as that pie chart is concerned, we have to know what exactly they call a terrorist attack as an act of violence isn't necessarily terrorism. You also have to account for the percentage of people who belong in each group that live in the US as well. These facts are left out of the pie chart and therefore muddle any attempt for it to convey any point as to how the breakdown of terrorist attacks by group.

LAGOS, Nigeria - Nigeria's Islamic extremist leader threatened in a videotaped statement seen on Monday to sell the more than 200 teenage schoolgirls abducted from a school in the remote northeast of the country three weeks ago.

Abubakar Shekau for the first time also claimed responsibility for the April 15 mass abduction, in a video reviewed by The Associated Press.

"I abducted your girls," said the leader of Boko Haram, which means "Western education is sinful."

"By Allah, I will sell them in the marketplace," he said in the hour-long video that starts with fighters lofting automatic rifles and shooting in the air as they chant "Allahu akbar!" or "God is great."

Islamist militants Boko Haram have released a video apparently showing about 130 girls kidnapped from a school in northern Nigeria on 14 April.

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said the children would be held until all imprisoned militants had been freed.

Interior Minister Abba Moro rejected the deal, telling the BBC that it was "absurd" for a "terrorist group" to try to set conditions.

Boko Haram abducted more than 200 girls and threatened to sell them.

Kenya's police chief David Kimaiyo has ordered the seizure of commuter buses with tinted windows.

The move was intended to prevent attacks by militant Islamists from neighbouring Somalia, he said.

Police believe it will be easier to spot militants in vehicles with untinted windows, says the BBC's Robert Kiptoo in the capital, Nairobi.

Explosions on two buses in the city killed three people and wounded more than 80 earlier this month.

The government believes the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab group was behind the attacks.

Our correspondent says previous appeals by the authorities that coaches and minibus taxis - known as matatus - should not have tinted windows were ignored.

I believe I have said that.

HOWEVER.

That being said.

If a significant percentage of the population did not at least passively support those that were: by contributing to the mosques that supply them with what they need, by not discouraging the young people in their community from joining, by not reporting the activities of the group in their area... They ARE contributing to their operations.

If the PEOPLE stood together and said NO, eventually the group would move on.

Just as those that live in Chicago and while they say they disapprove of criminal gang activity, yet they don't do anything to discourage it are supporting the ongoing culture of violence in the city.

Just as Al Quede SAID they condemned the kidnapping of the girls in Nigeria, yet they are doing NOTHING to find and rescue them.

Talk, as it were, is CHEAP. And in some cases. It is also BS.
