Ah, fair, that does make a lot of sense. But if they can keep hate sites on the internet flowing freely (and they do, so many anti-trans hate forums out there spewing their garbage and targeting people illegally), then it should be possible to keep those sites online.

I didn't know about FORUMS, but Twitter puts that shit on my TL constantly... and even pays those for generating "engagement". That's why I spend so much time reminiscing... our internet had problems, but it wasn't THIS (I sometimes get attacked because I'm a LatinAmerican).

Oh there are some very, very toxic forums out there, for sure. Whole forums dedicated to documenting and harassing people. I'm sorry you get attacked, as well, it's definitely not fun!

When someone messes with me, I usually quadruple down. Think my accent is horrendous and my language is stupid? Well, read/hear me talk in these long-winded, chain-smoker-esque sentences that are so over-the-top, they don't resemble any of the 1242357864 Spanish accents in the world. Yeah, there's one dedicated to hunting down us trans women out there, it's called Kiwi Farms, and they quite literally spend all day every day documenting trans women so they can harass them, out them to people who might not know they're trans and demonize them for being trans. They are a spiteful, horrible group of people, and they're one example of multiple groups that exist that focus on so many things. It's so sad that these things exist.

I've got nothing against Latin America, nothing against Spanish-speaking people or countries, and my only gripe against Argentina is Maradona cheating in the world cup against us (Grr! lol), but otherwise, all good here. I'll admit that I have made some... less-than-civil comments about the UK in the past, particularly regarding the Malvinas issue. But I'm generally pretty chill (and I have made more than 13K posts on Kyng's forum, which is almost entirely Brit-run). I'd much rather joke around!

At age 10?! Wow! I can't say that's unheard-of (one of my admin duties was actually talking a nine-year-old into coming back in a few years), but it's still quite uncommon. What kind of forum did you join that early? Did your parents know? I'm asking because mine were uneasy, and I was 13.

If I'm remembering correcting it was just a general chat forum, and yeah, I was very much an underage terror, but it was early enough that even COPPA bans weren't common yet, lol, so I escaped for a couple of years and then joined other forums when I was the "legal" COPPA-approved age of 13 .

The only thing I'm noticing the deeper I dig (both on WA and my own memories) is that there was a TON of rampant bullying at the time... and some wasn't even hidden.

Yep, it was so, so prevalent back then because everyone was anonymous. It was easy, but also people took it less seriously. It was just part of the process.
