I suppose it depends on the admin, I considered it a point of pride when someone went out of their way to reverse engineer something I did, lol. As if I'd done something useful for once, lol.
I suppose these days I'd be more offended, given the emphasis on security and privacy, but yeah, back then it was like a challenge for everyone to take sites apart and see if you could do what someone else had done, lol. Fun!

It's crazy how high its peak was and how fast its downfall occurred. Nowadays people hardly remember they used it.
I remember my friends and classmates bothering me ALL THE TIME on MSN Messenger to check their "Flogs".

It was, wasn't it? I distinctly remember doing my homework on Terra and Yahoo! and not even considering Google til the very end.
Yep, Google was such an afterthought for so long, and now it's basically controlling the internet.
SUCH an afterthought that I actually saw it first on a damn Dreamcast! My friend had just gotten the console and was eager to try any fast-loading site he could think of. Yahoo! failed, but Google loaded and we have been using it since.
Yep, I was an askjeeves user at first, lol. Google wasn't a thing for so long.
