For me, I keep cash specifically when I go out because from what I understand servers prefer getting tipped by cash.

Most places don't take checks anymore unless it's a cashier's check from the bank.

I say "Life" as well. Life is too short to live in fear or regrets. So many people are afraid of dying that they forget to actually LIVE a life.
As for cash, we prefer to use cash. If someone takes our wallet, they just get what is in it. If they take the card, ALL the money is gone. We keep with a budget & are debt-free. It's too easy to go over the budget when you use cards.

My place of employment quit taking them because people write a lot of bad checks and get away with it.

Cash is a good one that Empire mentioned. Another for me is cars. With the push for electric vehicles and self-driving cars, it might not be long before we don't actually drive our own cars.

I would also say reading physical books. Everything is becoming computerized as more time goes on. With that, we may be switching to reading on computers or tablets or some other similar fashion.
